NEW BUILDINGS????  TAX HIKES???? BASIC SERVICES????

In light of the current economic conditions, the Clearwater County Taxpayers’ Association feels it is of utmost importance that your tax dollars are spent in a fiscally responsible manner, reflective of the wishes of you, the taxpayer.  Consequently we are sending out this special edition of The Beacon with a two- fold purpose… encourage you to become involved, and to provide an opportunity for your input.

1. Become involved…We encourage you to attend the County’s budget deliberation meetings on February 2,3, and 4 at 9:00AM in the county’s office.  Come and hear council’s discussion on potential topics like:

• New buildings
• Development proposals
• Public works spending
• Increased staff
• Waste authority management
• Roads/bridges
• YOUR TAX RATES

Then, provide your input at the county’s Open House on February 18, from 2:00PM to 7:00PM at the County Office.  

2.  Provide input… We are asking for your opinion on county budget issues and invite you to fill out the questionnaire on the back of this newsletter.  This would give us valuable information as we endeavor to “present your case” to county council.  In return for giving us a few minutes of your time we are giving you the opportunity to win a $100.00 Coop Gift Card.

Becoming involved  +  giving input = possibility for positive budget.
